ADDING NEWS ARTICLES OR CAREER LISTINGS
- Access either the article listings page or the Career listings
page from within Contribute
- Click "Edit".
- If you are adding an article to the news page, right click
on the top article in the list and select "insert row above".
If you are editing the Careers page you will not need to do this.
- Add your date/headline or new career title into the proper
location.
- Highlight the text that you want to link to your new article
or career page. In the Contribute toolbar click the "link" button
and select "create new page".
- Select the either the "news" or "career" template. Enter the
title for your new page in the space provided. Click "OK".
- Fill out the template with your article or career content,
then click "publish".
- In the dialog box that comes up, make sure the file has the
name you want (it can not have any spaces) then click "Choose
Folder" and click on either the news or career folder. Click
the "select" button. The box will close, then click "publish".
- Now you have published your new page, but the article listings
or career listings page still needs to be published. In the left
hand sidebar in Contribute, select the page you edited earlier.
it will begin: "draft...". Then click "publish" and everything
will be live.
UPDATING THE NEWS SCROLLER
- Access this instruction page (http://www.selectrontechnologies.com/newsedit.html)
from within Contribute.
- Click on this link: news.txt
- A page with a message and a document icon will open in Contribute.
Click "Edit". Your computer should open the .txt file
automatically in outside of Contribute.
- The file should look like this:

- To add your latest news article, just replace the oldest
date in the .txt file with the new date that you gave the
news article when you named it, and then type or paste the
new headline over the old one directly below the date.
- If you want, you can also reorder the articles,
and there can be as many articles as you like,
as long as they are listed in the format above.
- When you are done, save the file, then go back
into Contribute and click "Publish".
- Then be sure to go online in a regular browser
to the scrolling news page and test your new news
link.
