Selectron Customers Rank High on List of Most Technologically Advanced Cities

PORTLAND, OREGON — December 28, 2006 — Selectron Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of interactive voice, web, and mobile solutions for government agencies, is proud to acknowledge a number of client sites that were recognized as the most technologically advanced in the nation. Todd Johnston, Selectron President and CEO, is pleased with the number of Selectron customers that have been recognized for their strength in the implementation of today’s leading edge technologies. "These cities, counties, and states realize the value of automating systems to facilitate information access and support for their community members. The technology in place today keeps people in touch and makes doing business with their government easier and more effective,” says Johnston.

The National League of Cities and The National Coalition of Counties (NACo), partnering with the Center for Digital Government, recently released the 6th annual list of the most technologically advanced cities, counties, and states in America. This survey is open to all US cities with populations of 30,000 or more, all counties with populations over 150,000, and all 50 states.

The survey includes four different population groups and ranks the top ten in each of these groups. The city winners were honored at a special awards ceremony on December 7, 2006 in Reno, Nevada. County winners were honored in Chicago, Illinois in August at the NACo Annual Conference. Below is a list of the Selectron Technologies, Inc. customers that were winners, including their rankings and the Selectron product(s) they currently use, which have enabled them to improve the technology available to their constituents.

VoicePermits allows building contractors to schedule or cancel inspections and review inspection results. It also gives inspectors  the ability to post inspection results from the field. The base system likewise provides spoken site-address verification, and enables two-way permit-based voice messaging between inspectors and contractors.

WebPermits provides information and services via the web to building contractors and citizens. Users can schedule or cancel inspections and obtain inspection results or the history of a permit. WebPermits integrates seamlessly with VoicePermits to offer a complete and flexible solution to community development departments.

VoiceUtility is a user-friendly and efficient solution that is adaptable to the unique needs of any community. Using a touchtone telephone, consumers need only their account or customer ID number to instantly access utility account information such as their current balance and date of last payment. This information can be quickly and easily retrieved, at any time and from any location. Users may also request fax documents detailing the same account information they can hear over the phone.

WebUtility gives utility customers 24-hour online access to account information. Customers using a standard browser can access their accounts using a customer ID or account number. Users can easily view their current account status, verify usage details, check billing and payment history - as well as pay their bills via electronic check or credit card. Additionally, customers can submit a request to stop service on a particular date and provide a forwarding address for final bills.

InspecTrack allows both Pocket PC users and Notebook customers to enjoy the benefits of a portable inspection solution. With standard functionality that includes instant in-the-field access to information such as site address, permit type, permit description, and much more, many agencies are using InspecTrack to help inspectors become more efficient and save time while doing inspections.
