Tulare County, California Chooses Selectron's Mobile Inspection Solution for its Code Compliance & Building Inspection Divisions
PORTLAND, OREGON — November 21, 2005 — Selectron Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of interactive voice, web and mobile solutions for public sector clients throughout North America, announced that they have been awarded a contract to implement their InspecTrack™ mobile inspection solution at the Code Compliance and Building Inspection Divisions in Tulare County, California. Once installed, the new InspecTrack system will help the County streamline their inspection process by increasing the consistency and accuracy of building and code enforcement inspections. Inspectors in the field will use rugged Toughbook® notebook PCs from industry leader Panasonic Computer Solutions Company to reliably record inspection results and transmit them back to the County offices in real-time.
Tulare County currently has 19 full-time inspectors and anticipates adding as many as 11 more inspectors in 2006. The new system will interface directly with the County’s existing Accela ‘PERMITS’Plus land management database to automate the inspection scheduling, field reporting and posting process. Inspectors will be able to download information about the status of a permit and review prior site inspection results and history while at the inspection site.
The project is being funded through a grant from the California Department of Housing and Community Development’s (HCD) Code Enforcement Grant Program (CEGP). The CEGP was established in 2003 to provide grant funds to eligible applicants for capital expenditure costs that complement a proposed or existing local building code enforcement program. To qualify for the grant, Tulare County submitted a grant request demonstrating how InspecTrack would help expedite the identification and abatement of housing code violations in a timely and coordinated process.
“We are pleased that Tulare County has chosen InspecTrack to meet their wireless inspection needs,” said Todd Johnston, President & CEO of Selectron Technologies, Inc. “Selectron has implemented a number of these systems in jurisdictions throughout California, including Santa Rosa, Riverside, San Dimas, Victorville and Livermore, and we are confident that Tulare County and its constituents will be well-served by this product.”
