Interactive Voice & Web Platform

Featuring new remote administration capability, web-based reporting, and many other enhancements, the interactive solution platform is the core component of Selectron Technologies, Inc's. Interactive Voice Response (IVR) and Interactive Web Response (IWR) applications.

The platform was built in the Microsoft® .NET™ environment utilizing C# as the development language. Selectron continues to use Intel® Dialogic Voice Boards as well as the Intel® NetMerge™ Call Processing Software, but has moved to the latest versions of these technologies.

Why change development environments?

As with any software-based system, the underlying technologies and platforms of Interactive Solutions continue to evolve. By using the latest, proven technologies for application development, Selectron invests in lengthening the lifecycle of the delivered systems. “By working on the latest .NET environment, our [Interactive Voice and Web] solutions naturally have an extended product lifecycle,” cited Dan Porter, Vice President of Operations. Additionally, these latest environments also provide access to new technologies that extend or augment the usefulness of the solution for our customers, such at Text-to-Speech and Automatic Speech Recognition.

Why .NET?

Selectron Technologies considered many factors in choosing base technologies and frameworks, including technical, business, and practical considerations. From a technical perspective the move to the .NET environment, specifically C#, provides several inherit benefits to the system. As a powerful, object-oriented development environment, moving to C# provides the impetus to design a clean, object-based solution that is robust, extensible, and adaptable. This environment also scales very well from small-systems to large, distributed multi- server solutions.

Ready availability of parts and service is a factor that is at least equally important as the technical merits of hardware card design. By selecting market leaders such as Intel and Microsoft, Selectron is ensuring the future viability and availability of the platform. In addition, as the industry leader in these tools, Microsoft provides the most options and flexibility, as well as access to thousands of related third-party technologies.

“The decision was an easy one. We chose to invest in the future in order to stay successful in years to come. The Microsoft development framework, combined with the latest PC and voice technology from Intel, is providing our customer base with systems that are cost-effective to implement and maintain over the life of the installation,”

-Mike Hanegan, VP of Technical Development
