Thurston County, Washington Chooses Selectron’s Integrated Voice Response Solution
for its Development Services Department
PORTLAND, OREGON — July 28, 2005 — Selectron Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of interactive voice, web and mobile solutions for public sector clients throughout North America, announced that they have been awarded a contract to implement their VoicePermits™ interactive voice response (IVR) system at the Development Services Department (DSD) in Thurston County, Washington. Once installed, the new VoicePermits™ system will help the County maximize efficiency of their building inspection process while providing local contractors with faster inspection results, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so they can keep their projects moving forward.
Thurston County has 10 full-time inspectors and one part-time inspector, who perform an average of 160 inspections each day. The new system will interface directly with the County’s existing CSDC AMANDA land management software to automate the inspection scheduling and posting process. Inspectors will be able to call into the system from the field to verify the status of a permit or review prior site inspection results and history. They can also report new inspection results while out in the field, even leaving a detailed message about the inspection that can be retrieved by the contractor. Contractors will be able to call into the VoicePermits system to schedule, cancel or reschedule an inspection, listen to the results of recent inspections, request a faxed copy of inspection results or the inspection history for a specific permit, and verify the status of plans that have been submitted for review.
“We are looking forward to working with Selectron to install the new VoicePermits system, which we anticipate will go online later this year,” said Gina Suomi, Administrative Services Manager for Thurston County. “Selectron really stood out from the other proposers for this project with their previous government experience and a proven application that came with impeccable references for quality and reliability. Their system is flexible and expandable, and offered a wide selection of additional functionality modules that will greatly enhance DSD staff efficiency and improve customer service.
“We are delighted to be working with Thurston County on this project,” said Todd Johnston, President & CEO of Selectron Technologies, Inc. “Selectron has enjoyed great success in integrating our VoicePermits system with similar AMANDA permitting systems at many jurisdictions across the country, and we are confident that this application will enable Thurston County to improve service levels to their constituents, facilitate inspection routines for County staff, and save taxpayer dollars in the process.”
