Initially a division of Selectron
Inc., Selectron Technologies
was formed in 1990 when a longtime customer asked the company to
develop a custom interactive voice response system. At that time,
the company was providing both security management solutions and
telephony services, and with several years of experience building
complex telephone and voice mail solutions, expanding the product
suite to include interactive voice response systems was a natural
evolution.
As a pioneer in small-scale interactive technology, Selectron
Inc. had many customers who were interested in the new technology.
The customer base of the IVR division grew steadily over the next
several years, as both private companies and public agencies learned
how IVR could promote efficiency and increase customer service.
Community Development agencies in particular saw the potential
for streamlining processes using IVR, and quickly became the largest
segment of the company’s IVR customers.
In 1994, the decision was made to focus effort towards developing
integrated solutions for local Community Development agencies,
and within two years, Selectron Inc. was established as the leading
provider of IVR for Building & Planning Departments.
Growth and a New Name
By 2001, the IVR division had achieved more than a decade of
growth and expansion and had more than 90 systems installed around
the US and Canada. That year, the company acquired M-Track Software,
a provider of mobile inspection systems for the building and
code enforcement industries.
With expanded offerings and a growing customer base, it soon became
apparent that reorganization would be necessary, and in January
2002, Selectron Technologies, Inc. emerged as an independent company.
Today, Selectron Technologies is a leader
in the field of interactive technology, and continues to provide
innovative and complex solutions to a variety of government agencies.
