Selectron Technologies has an outstanding opportunity for a Product Development Manager to join our team of professionals. Selectron Technologies develops a full line of software solutions specializing in City and County government agencies using the latest Microsoft Technologies. POSITION SUMMARY

The Product Development Manager manages all activities of the software development teams; leading a highly-skilled technical team. The Product Development Manager develops and delivers company products by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops, maintains, and implements software development processes.
  • Leads highly-technical contributors in the design and development of products. Validates architecture, design decisions, and roadmap.
  • Provides leadership in design and development of new products and services. Ensures correct resource allocations to projects and directs project teams in developing project plans. Guides implementation of new products to ensure organization and customer goals are met.
  • Provides input to the development of product strategy as well as research and development of new and emerging products and technologies.
  • Establishes product and quality control standards, develops budget and cost controls, and maintains data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.
  • Actively participates in Management Team. Provides development expertise in organization. Ensures development and deployment consistency and long-term serviceability of products.
  • Directly supervises 10 to 20 employees, including interviewing, hiring, and training; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Knowledge and experience with a variety of software development methodologies and all the tools and techniques necessary to implement them.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a college or technical school
  • Education in a technical field that includes exposure to software development methodologies and practices; as well as modern software languages and technologies.
  • Seven years of related experience; with a minimum four years of proven experience in establishing, supervising and managing successful development teams.
