Selectron Technologies has an immediate need for an Installation and Training Specialist to join our team of professionals. Selectron Technologies develops a suite of solutions targeted at City and County government agencies throughout North America. POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly motivated and self-directed individual to join our team of professionals as our Installation & Training Specialist. Our Specialist plans, installs, and manages training in the use of Selectron Technologies' products.
As part of the Project Management Team, the Installation & Training Specialist assists in the overall process and completion of projects. Extensive travel to customers' sites installing systems as well as training customers on customized solutions is required. Additionally the Specialist collaborates with Selectron teams to enhance existing products, assists in the development of new products, and establishes process improvements. As a customer-facing representative of the company, the Installation & Training Specialist displays a high level of product knowledge, technical skills, and training ability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Travels frequently to customer sites throughout the US and Canada performing physical installation of configured systems, working within customer's environments and resources
- Provides training to customers for basic systems operation, administration, and maintenance using effective interpersonal, verbal/written communication and presentation skills
- Installs and configures computer hardware, operating systems, and software including technical troubleshooting on software and telephony systems
- Ensures system configuration is performed using established guidelines and according to production schedule
- Utilizes advanced troubleshooting techniques including: problem definition, data collection, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Communicates effectively with internal cross-functional and support teams including project & product management, engineering, sales, as well as customer support
- Prepares and oversees the complete training experience by creating teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works
QUALIFICATIONS
- A Bachelor's Degree in a technical field, with experience in supporting highly technical products and services
- Two (2) or more years of experience in installation and implementation of software/hardware solutions
- Must have or be eligible to quickly obtain a passport
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with emphasis in training individuals as well as groups
- Strong facilitation skills and the ability to relate to individuals with a variety of learning styles
- Demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to define, document, and follow standard procedures
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with telephony integration including VoIP, T1, or other telephony systems
- Familiarity with PC configuration, networks, and a variety of software packages
